Flagstaff is the largest city in Coconino County, encompassing
64 square miles. Approximately 73,000 residents live in Flagstaff and
the surrounding area.

Originally formed as a logging community in the late 1800s, Flagstaff
sits at the base of the 12,000 foot, San Francisco Peaks. At an elevation
of 7,000 feet above sea level, Flagstaff is one of the highest cities
in America. Similar to most mountain communities, it boasts a classic
four season climate. Flagstaff has the largest Ponderosa pine forest in
the United States.
Flagstaff has all amenities of a modern city including a state of the
art 213 bed hospital, numerous locations for shopping, dining and an airport
with major airline service.
Flagstaff is home to both the Northern Arizona University and Coconino
Community College. 18 public schools, four magnet and numerous charter,
private and parochial schools.
Slayton Ranch Estates is in the Unified School District.
